After the conference, I car-pooled with a few other bloggers to Woolloomoolloo. Whilst others went and grabbed a bite to eat, Ben, another blogger I had met, and I met Krystal for a beer and people watching at the Woolloomoolloo Hotel
After the completion of our beers, Krystal, Ben and I headed to Kingsleys, where the conference dinner was held. The manager was happy enough to let Krystal ‘jim’ in too, as others had declined to show up. We were seated and offered some pre-dinner drinks, to which Krys and I ordered some pale ales. Apparently we had missed out on the appetizers ??
First course was capparcio of smoken yellow fin tuna, with pickled chillies, pistachio nuts, micro herbs and the most amazing dressing, served with a glass of 2010 St. Hallett Reisling from the Barossa Valley.

Shortly followed was the main course. Two types of beef – slow roasted tenderloin and a wagyu flat iron steak. This was accompanied by sides of kipfler potatoes with chorizo and spinach, grilled asparagus with buffallo parmesan cheese and an heirloom tomato salad with roasted olives and aged balsamic. DELISH!! Oh, and several side sauces including an amazing chimchurri and more mustards than you could poke a stick at.
Last course consisted of a slice of gorganzola, drizzled with iron bark honey and hazelnuts with thinly toasted date load and lavosh bread. There was also a tiny side salad of celery leaves and juilliene granny smith apple – I’m not too sure if this was for garnish, but I ate it anyway.
Overall, I had the best experience at the conference and the dinner. I have never met a more interesting and diverse bunch of people.
